Mothers Day Tricorn Card

We are in the month of March already, year seems to be going quick, and for the UK it means ‘Mothers Day’ this month, so what a better way to kick off the month with a beaufitul card that can be displayed two different ways depending on how the sentiment is added. Just love fancy fold cards, love looking for inspiration on Pinterest, YouTube, etc and found this one from Mixed Up Crafts. Like several fancy fold this one folds flat for posting making it ideal, another plus although looks complicated it is very straightforward to make.

Finished card size is 4 x 6 inches

Coloured cardstock
- card base – 6 x 8 inches
  - score on long side at 2 and 6 inches, flip cardstock over score at 4 inches
- piece for sentiment layer
Whisper White layers
- 6 pieces (2 for the front/4 for the back) – 1-3/4 x 5-1/2 inches
- piece for sentiment
DSP
- 2 pieces – 1-1/2 x 4-7/8 inches
Silver Foil – reduce Whisper White layers to 4 if using foil for the front
- 2 pieces for the front – 1-3/4 x 5-1/2 inches
- piece for sentiment

Along 2 and 6 inch score lines, mark down 2 inches from the top and bottom of the score lines, from these points score to the top corners to form triangles.

Along one side of each piece of Whisper White (or foil pieces) mark 1-1/2 inches from top and bottom, cut diagonally from this point to the opposite top corner – save the triangles and also if you have directional pattern mark on the other side.

Along one side of each piece of DSP mark 1-3/4 inches from top and bottom, cut diagonally from this point to the opposite top corner – save the triangles.

Adhere the centre section together, add DSP to white/foil layers including triangles, adhere to the front of the card and centre triangles, add 4 Whisper White pieces to the reverse of the card to write your message.

If you want to change the direction of how the card lies, rotate the card around to horizontal instead of vertical, change the front layers to foil instead of cardstock, making this a versatile card for individual requirements. I have shown the
