Stamped Candle and Gift Box

This is a first for me – stamping on candles, was not sure how it would turn out but quite pleased with the result and did a further two. Found three little dishes for the candles to stand in and finished it off with a presentation box. The box is cased from Intatwyne Designs but had to make adjustment for the dish to sit in. All images and sayings are from Beautiful You Stamp set. One has been stamped for a birthday and the other can be used for any occasion. Note first candle uses retired DSP that I had in my stash, ribbon is also stash items.

Finished box size is 6 x 3-1/2 x 3-1/2 inches

Coloured cardstock
- Lid and base – 5-9/16 x 5-9/16 inches, score on each side at 1 inch
- Insert – 5-7/16 x 5-7/16 inches, score on each side at 1 inch
- Back of box – 6 x 3-1/2 inches
DSP
- Lid layer – 3-3/8 x 3-3/8 inches
- Side of lid and base 8 pieces – 3-3/8 x 7/8 inches
- Back layer – 5-1/8 x 3-7/16 inches
Window Sheet – 11-1/2 x 6 inches, score on long side at 1/2, 4, 7-1/2, 11 inches

Depending if you have a dish or just the candle, use a circle die to find the one that fits the best for the item to sit in and die cut this in the centre of the insert. This piece is then embossed to give it an effect or you can use a piece of DSP to decorate. The lid, base and insert are all put together the same way, before putting the pieces together add the DSP to the lid and the sides of the lid and base (see photo below to show how tabs are cut).

Add tear and tape all around the bottom of the insert together down the the two 1/2 inch tabs of the window sheet and carefully add the window sheet to the insert first – found starting at front easier, there is no window sheet to cover the back of the insert – remove the tear and tape from the side of the window sheet and add the back cardstock piece. Add liquid adhesive to the back DSP layer and slide into the box – make sure the top is level and there is a small piece that will slide behind the insert. Add tear and tape around the window sheet for the base to be added – add just above the piece on the insert – add the base, before securing ensure box is at the bottom may need to use your fingers inside the circle to ensure box is at the bottom and finally secure tear and tape in place. Add your dish and/or candle, lid and finish off with some ribbon. Added the sentiment to one of the boxes as it disappeared on the candle when placed in the bowl.
