This style has been cased from Scrimping Mommy and I think you will agree it is a fantastic card that can be made and decorated in various papers. Different papers will give it a different appearance.
Finished card size 5-1/2 x 5-7/8 inches
- Shaded Spruce cardstock
- card base 5-7/8 x 11 inches, score on long side at each end at 2-3/4 inches, then on one 5-7/8 end trim a tiny sliver – this is to help the mechanism slide easier
- locking mechanism 4 pieces – 4 x 4 inches
- 2 pieces – score on one side at 2 inches
- DSP
- front layer 2 pieces – 5-5/8 x 2-1/2 inches
- locking mechanism layer – 3-3/4 x 3-3/4 inches
- diamond shape – 2-1/4 x 2-1/4 inches (reverse of the main DSP)
- Whisper White
- sentiment layer – 2 x 2 inches
- inside layer – 5-5/8 x 5-1/4 inches
- Vellum – 2-1/2 x 2-1/2 inches
Stamp the sentiment in Shaded Spruce, decorate leaves around edge of this and inside layer in Garden Green and Granny Apple Green. Adhere DSP on two front panels and inside layer. Adhere the locking mechanism by putting the two folded pieces spine to spine to one of the 4 x 4 piece, then glue the other piece to the other side of the folded pieces. Adhere the DSP layer to the mechanism, add the diamond DSP to the vellum, and sentiment to DSP. Adhere to front of mechanism centrally.
Ensure adhesive is dry then slide over the front of the card, the mechanism will lock the card closed. Add embellishments to sentiment, your card is now complete.
