Squeezed in an extra card this week to celebrate my birthday with you. Over the next couple of weeks you will see several cards using the Whale of a Time suite which I have fallen in love with. You would have seen one yesterday, one today and more to come, the papers help with the creativity. I expect you have seen several bench fold cards recently, so created one using this suite.

The photo below show how the card folds to fit into an envelope.

Finished card size (when closed flat) 5 x 7 inches

• Balmy Blue Cardstock
  • cardbase – 5 x 10 inches, score long side at 1-1/2, 3, 7, 8-1/2 inches
  • stopper piece – 5 x 2 inches, score long side at 1/2 and 4-1/2 inches
  • bench part  – 3-1/2 x 7 inches, score short side at 1-1/2 inches, score long side to first score line 1-1/2 and 5-1/2 inches (make sure this is on the now 1-1/2 inch section, 2 inch section forms the front)
  • piece for sentiment
• DSP
  • 4 side panels – 4-7/8 x 1-3/8 inches
  • front back panel – 3-7/8 x 4-7/8 inches
  • front bench – 3-7/8 x 1-7/8 inches
  • top bench – 3-7/8mx 1-3/8 inches
  • 2 side pieces back layer – 1/2 x 4-3/4 inches (use leftover  from front back panel)
  • 2 fussy cut turtles
  • 1 punched whale
• Whisper White – back layer – 3-3/4 x 4-3/4 inches

The two turtles are fussy cut from a piece of DSP and the whale punched from the DSP. Adhere the 2 DSP inside side panels and front back panel to the card base. Adhere the stopper lining up the bottom with the card base, 1/2 inch tabs adhere to the inside side panels. Remove the 2 1-1/2 inch squares on the bench part, add the DSP to the top and front of bench, stamping any images now. Adhere to the front side panels, lining up the bottom of card base, adhere the remaining 2 DSP side panels. Curl the whale so it looks like it is moving add dimensionals, add to the card. Add dimensionals to the 2 turtles add these to the back of card ensuring that they keep the bench top down when open. Add 2 side DSP piece to edge of Whisper White and adhere to reverse of card base. Stamp sentiment and add to card, card is now complete. Card will fold to the left or right to fit in envelope.
