Christmassy Ideas #20 – Gift Card and Money Holders

Matching gift card and money wallet holders made using the beautiful papers from Brightly Gleaming and matching cardstock.

For gift card

Coloured cardstock
- base – 4-3/4 x 3-3/4 inches, score on long side at 1-1/4, 1-3/8, 3-5/8 and 3-3/4 inches
- holder – 4-1/4 x 2-1/4 inches, score on two short sides and one long side at 3/8 and 1/2 inches
- front sentiment layer – 1-1/8 x 1-5/8 inches
DSP
- front of holder – 1-5/8 x 3-3/8 inches
- top flap – 2 pieces – 1-1/8 x 3-5/8 inches
- centre panel – 2 pieces – 2-1/8 x 3-5/8 inches
- bottom flap – 2 pieces – 1-7/8 x 3-5/8 inches
Whisper White
- front sentiment – 1 x 1-1/2 inches
- inside message – 1-3/8 x 3-1/8 inches

For money wallet

Coloured cardstock
- base – 6-1/2 x 7-1/4 inches, score on long side at 2 and 5-1/4 inches
- front sentiment layer – 1-1/8 x 1-5/8 inches
DSP –
- 2 pieces 3-1/8 x 6-3/8 inches
- 3 pieces 1-7/8 x 6-3/8 inches
Whisper White
- front sentiment – 1 x 1-1/2 inches
- inside message – 1-3/8 x 4 inches

Put together Gift Card

Carefully burnish the score lines on the cardstock holder, remove the corners as shown below – bottom corners are cut to the second line and slight mitre the top side tabs to the first score line. Adhere the DSP and with circle punch make a thumb hold to be able to remove the gift card easily (see lower photo).

Round the corners on the base to the top section (this is the smaller area), round 2 pieces of the top flap DSP (if directional paper make sure the corners are rounded the correct way), adhere these to the inside and outside of the flap. Adhere the 2 centre pieces to the inside and back and the 2 bottom flap pieces. Adhere the holder to the inside centre panel (make sure the side tabs sit inside the bottom flap this will help the gift card to be easily put into the holder). Heat emboss the sentiment in gold to the whisper white sentiment piece, adhere to coloured layer. Add to this to the top flap but only secure half of it to the flap, add a velcro dot. Add the whisper white message piece to the inside bottom flap. The holder is complete and ready to have a gift card added.

Put together money wallet

Round the top corners of the base, round 2 pieces of the smaller DSP (if directional paper make sure the corners are rounded the correct way), adhere these to the inside and outside of the flap, adhere the other smaller piece to the outside of the bottom flap and adhere larger piece to the inside centre panel one to the back panel (the back panel is optional and can be left blank to add whisper white to add your own personal message instead of inside the wallet). Add thin tear and tape to the sides of the flap with no DSP and adhere this to the centre panel.

Add the whisper white message to the inside of the top flat centrally, optionally round corners before adhering.

Heat emboss the sentiment in gold to the whisper white sentiment piece, adhere to coloured layer. Add to this to the top flap but only secure half of it to the flap, add a velcro dot. Money wallet is complete and ready to add cash as a gift.
