Butterfly Twisted Gatefold Card

This card has been cased from Mixed Up Crafts but I put my own twist on this gatefold card. This is easy to make even though the card looks complicated!

Materials Needed

  • So Saffron cardstock measuring 9 x 6 inches, score on long side at 3 and 6 inches, then score in the first and last panels from the top right hand corner down to the bottom left
  • So Saffron cardstock two 1 inch circles
  • Whisper White cardstock measuring 2 3/4 x 5 5/8 inches (inside centre of card for your sentiment;
  • Whisper White cardstock measuring 2 5/8 x 5 3/8 inches to layer your front twisted panels, score from the top right hand corner down to the bottom left
  • Whisper White measuring 1 x length of A4 cardstock, score on long side at every 1/4 inch for rosette
  • Botanical Butterfly DSP measuring 2 1/4 x 5 3/8 inches to layer the your front twisted panels, score from top right hand corner down to the bottom left
  • Brights DSP measuring 2 5/8 x 5 3/8 inches for the back of the twist, score from top left hand corner down to bottom right
  • Butterfly Gala bundle
  • Piece of Window sheet
  • Piece of Gold Glimmer Paper
  • Jet Black Stazon ink

Putting card together

  • Score card base, cut the layers and score the one inch piece for the rosette
  • Adhere the DSP to the White layer using liquid glue, then adhere this to the front of each twist using liquid glue ensuring you have equal borders
  • Adhere the DSP for the back of the twist using liquid glue, ensuring you have equal borders
  • Using Stazon ink stamp the large butterfly image onto the window sheet
  • With the butterfly punch, punch the window sheet image together with one from the gold glimmer paper
  • Adhere the stamped butterfly ln top of the gold glimmer butterfly with a glue dot
  • Fold the resettle piece by starting with a mountain fold then a valley fold alternately to the end ensuring the last fold is a valley fold, if not cut the last off to leave the valley fold
  • Join the two ends together with lied glue and hold in place until stuck, alternatively use narrow tear and tape
  • On a flat surface make the rosette round ensuring folds are evenly spread around
  • Using hot glue gun add one of the circles to the centre of the rosette. once dried turn rosette over and glue the other circle to the rosette centrally again using hot glue gun
  • Adhere half of the circle to one side of the front of the card
  • Adhere the butterfly to the rosette
  • Stamp the Whisper White sentiment and adhere to the card centre
  • Your card is now complete
