Flower Pot Christmas Card

This card was inspired by Mixed Up Craft, using the Poinsettia Petals bundle to create the flowers and petals. The card is free standing used a couple of retired items – basketweave embossing folder, copper embossing powder and ribbon, but these are easily substituted my current items.

This card will need a self made envelope as its finished size is 6 x 8-1/2 inches

Thick Whisper White cardstock
- front and back – 2 pieces 4-1/4 x 5 inches
  - on one short side on both pieces mark at 3/4 and 3-1/2 inches and cut from the mark to the top corner to shape the pot
- concertina sides – 2 pieces 2 x 4-1/2 inches
  - score on short side at 1/2, 1, 1-1/2 inches
- full out panel for message – 3 x 5 inches
- flower pot rim – 2 pieces 4-1/4 x 1-1/2 inches
- optional piece for message in flowers
Cherry Cobbler for the 5 flowers
Shaded Spruce for the leaves
Copper Foil for the foliage

Heat emboss 5 flower images in copper and die cut once cool. Die cut a mixture of small and large leaves (7 in total), die cut 5 foliage images in copper foil. Emboss the front and back pieces and gently brush over these pieces and flower pot rim with Smoky Slate. Adhere the flower pot rims to the outside top of the front and back. Add a strip of ribbon where you want it to he front securing on the reverse, bow is added separately. Fold the concertina side pieces as mountain, valley, mountain folds, adhere these to the sides of the front piece (about 1/8 inch in from edge and 1/4 inch down from the top) and then add the back ensuring it is level with the front. The concertina sides will help the card stand by itself. Add 3 flowers to the front of flower and 2 to the message piece on one of the short sides and corner the 2 bottom corners. Add the leaves and foliage as required. Stamp any sentiment on the message card. Optional addition stamp a sentiment on small piece of card with glue gun add to stick and secure bottom of stick inside the front of the pot. Your card is now complete.
