Today’s card is a 6 x 6 inch concertina pop up card (inspired by Mixed Up Craft) uses the gorgeous Zany Zebras stamp set, together with Playing with Patterns DSP and items from Hippo Happiness bundle. The colour of cardstock used is to tie in with the DSP.

Finished card size is 6 x 6 inches

• Bumblebee cardstock 2 pieces – 6 x 12 inches
  • card front – score 1 pice on long side at 6 inches
  • inside card – score 1 piece on long side at 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 inches, on short side score at 2 and 4 inches only to the second score line at both ends
• Calypso Coral cardstock
  • inside support layer – 8 x 6 inches
    • score on long side at 2, 4 and 6 inches
  • piece to cut ‘happy birthday’
• DSP
  • front layer – 5-3/4 x 5-3/4 inches (keep off cuts)
  • 12 pieces – 1-1/2 x 1-1/2 inches
  • 2 piece – 1-3/4 x 1-3/4 inches
  • piece to cut ‘happy birthday’
  • piece for balloon strings
• Gold Foil
  • 12 pieces 1-3/4 x 1-3/4 inches
  • 3 pieces for shaped layers
• Whisper White cardstock
  • back layer – 5-3/4 x 5-3/4 inches
  • piece for front embossed stamped image, and 3 balloons
  • 4 pieces – 1-1/2 x 1-1/2 inches

Adhere the 12 DSP pieces to the gold foil squares, adhere to the inside card piece inside the 12 scored squares. Die cut in gold foil the 2 shapes for the inside and I for the front of the card from the Hippo and Friends dies. Adhere adhesive sheet to the piece of DSP and Calypso Coral to die cut ‘happy birthday’, layer the DSP onto the cardstock, add each word to the gold foil. With memento ink stamp 4 zebra images onto the whisper white squares, together with 1 zebra onto the back layer. Fussy cut 2 of the images and adhere to the top and bottom middle squares, adhere 2 zebras to the square DSP. Heat emboss gold zebra onto whisper white, die cut shape to match gold foil shape, stamp stars in Bumblebee, adhere to gold foil, add dimensionals to reverse. Stamp 3 balloons in Bumblebee and die strings in DSP, attach strings to balloons with dimensionals, add balloons to reverse of gold foil. Add DSP to card front, add balloons and image to card front. Add sentiment in Bumblebee to back layer together with 3 hats in Calypso Coral, draw lines from hats to zebra if required, adhere to the back of the card.

Place the inside card and support layer together (no adhesive), on 6 inch score line, make 2 holes 2 inches in from each edge. Turn the support layer round so the folds are opposite, add ribbon through both layers and tie a bow (this holds the pieces together). Ribbon used was coloured with Calypso Coral blends. Add the 2 square pieces and the ‘happy birthday’ pieces. Adhere the card front, inside card and layer together (first 2 inches of each colour only from each edge – centre is not adhered) – see side view of photo above.
