Halloween Pumpkin Pots

The end of the month is fast approaching and for two little ones I created these adorable pumpkin holders, thanks to Mixed Up Craft for the original idea, using products that I had.

To make each pot

  • Pumpkin Pie cardstock (base and sides) 3-1/2 x 7-1/2 inches, score on long side at 2-1/2 and 5 inches, score on short side at 1/2 and 3 inches
  • Pumpkin Pie – 6 oval pieces approx 3 x 3-3/4 inches
  • Garden Green cardstock – 2 pieces approx 1/16 or 1/8 x length of A4 cardstock for swirls
  • Garden Green cardstock for leaves and top of pumpkin

Each oval edge is blended with Pumpkin Pie ink using a dauber or blending tool. Three sets of leaves are die cut from the Rooted in Nature dies in Garden Green with edges blended in coordinating ink. For the top of the pumpkin cut what looks like a witches hat freehand from Garden Green cardstock measuring 1-1/2 x 1 inches. Curl the swirl pieces around pen/pencil to create the curls.

With 2 ovals overlap slightly and glue the overlap then adhere the third oval on the top. To create the other side lay the other 3 ovals on top so they match and glue the same way. Using the base along the 1/2 inch edge and where the score lines meet cut triangles (4 in total) this helps the base/sides fold easily. Adhere the base to the bottom of one set of ovals (making sure it does not show from the front),  adhere the sides at a angle again making sure they do not show. Now adhere the other set of ovals to the other side. Add the top of the pumpkin by slotting behind the middle oval, add the leaves and swirls to just to the front side of the pumpkin.

Fill with chocolates, sweets or anything you want. If you want, handles can be added to the side of the pumpkin so it can be carried.

Thank you for looking and hope you enjoyed this project. The supplies are listed below and linked to the online store, I would love to be your demonstrator if you are interested please contact me.
