Petal Promenade Arrow Fold Card

This lovely card design was cased from Mixed Up Craft which I have adapted for a 50th birthday card using Petal Promenade DSP (retiring at the end of May) and Grapefruit Grove foil (SAB free item). Large Numbers were used for the age which unfortunately are no longer available from SU.

  • Whisper White card base 10 x 7 inches, score on long side at 5 inches
  • Foil or glimmer paper/cardstock if preferred (first layer) 4.75 x 6.5 inches; piece for numbers
  • DSP (top layer) 2 pieces 5.75 x 4.25 inches and 4.75 x 6.5 inches )optional); piece for numbers

On card base on the front of the card measure along the bottom of the card and mark the centre point in this case 3.5 inches, on each side mark the centre point in this case 2.5 inches. With a ruler score from each side fold to the bottom centre point (3.5 inches), then score from 2.5 inch marks to the bottom centre point. Burnish the first score lines into mountain folds, and the second score lines into valley folds (this will form wings each side of the triangle on the front of the card). Using liquid glue adhere these folds to the front of the card so they lie flat, making it easier for posting.

With the foil layer and DSP layers on each long side make the centre point and then cut diagonally from the top corner to the centre point from each side so you have three triangles from each piece. The largest triangle is adhered to the top of the card base and the other two make the side panels; first adhere the foil to the card base and then the smaller DSP layer onto the foil layer. The larger triangle from the other piece of DSP is optional but I used it on the inside of the triangle to tidy it up.

Stamp the sentiment and decorate as required,

Thank you for looking, enjoy making your version,
