Pootlers Retreat April 2019

After Onstage on the Saturday, my upline arranged a team get together for the next day and again I created seem swaps, this is not a requirement but I enjoy making them. For this I created a box that contained 3 mini chocolate eggs with the box made to look like a rabbit – Easter is just around the corner so thought it would be appropriate.

  • Coloured cardstock 4 1/8 x 4 inches (for box), score on long side at 3/8ths, 1 1/8, and 3 3/8 inches, on short side score at 1, 1.75, 2.75 and 3.5 inches; scrap for arms
  • Whisper White cardstock 7/8 x 2.25 inches; scrap for ears
  • Pumpkin Pie cardstock – for each carrot need approx 1.5 x 0.5 inches folded in half to cut a carrot shape ensuring the bottom of the carrot keeps the fold
  • Old Olive – top of carrot using die from Electic Layers (now retired) could use the sprig punch instead
  • Foxy Friends Stamp Set (rabbit face)
  • Fable Friends Stamp Set (sentiment)
  • Duet Banner Punch – need the bottom image for arms
  • Daisy Punch for Ears
  • Momento Ink
  • Petal Pink Light Blend

To put the box together you need to score and burnish the score lines and remove the following pieces (shaded area to be removed)

Once done should end up with a shape like this, on the back piece cut a semi circle (as shown)

Add tear and tape to the side tab (shown above on the right hand side) and stick to form a box. Adhere the tabs for bottom of the box using liquid glue or tear and tape. Box is now done.

On the Whisper White cardstock stamp the rabbit face and gently colour the cheeks using Petal Pink blend; punch out a daisy in Whisper White (cut this so you two petals for the ears) using the Petal Pink blend draw a line in the centre of each ear and adhere this to the back of the rabbit face; adhere this to the front of the box using liquid glue.

Punch two pieces in coloured cardstock from the Duet Banner punch for the arms; link the arms centrally on the front of the box and gently fold around the corner, burnish these folds and adhere the arms to the side of the box only removing any excess from the side. Cut the carrot shape and die cut or punch the top adhere his between the carrot and stick this to the inside of one of the arms.

Stamp the sentiment on Whisper White in co-ordinating ink to the cardstock and adhere to the front of the box. To finish add a ball of cotton wool on the back for the tail.

Easter bunny box is now complete.

Thank you for looking, enjoy making your version.
