January 2019 Spring/Summer Blog Hop

Today I am taking part in the Pootlers Team Blog Hop to showcase products from the spring/summer catalogue and this entry used the How Sweet It Is suite – cardstock, DSP, stamp set, dies together with the matching ink. The original concept of the idea was taken from Mixed Up Craft but measurements were adjusted to fit the A4 cardstock

Items required

  • Gorgeous Grape cardstock – 11.5 x 5.5 inches; long side scored at 2.75, 5.5, 8.25, 11 inches, plus scrap for layering the sentiment
  • Whisper White cardstock – one piece 5.25 x 5.25 inches (front) ; two pieces 2.25 x 5.25 inches (inside back of card); one pice 2 x 5 inches (back of card to be layered on DSP)); plus a scrap for sentiment
  • How Sweet It Is DSP – one piece 5 x 5 inches (front to be layered on Whisper White); 2 pieces 2 x 5 inches (inside back of card) to be layered on Whisper White); one piece 2.25 x 5.25 (back of card) inches
  • Window Sheet 0.75 x 4.75 inches
  • Grapefruit Grove and Lovely Lipstick Foil Sheets
  • Sweetest Thing Photopolymer Bundle

Putting the card together

  • Die cut the sweet jars from the sheet of DSP (yes the dies do match)
  • Die cut the sweets required from the Foil Sheets
  • Using the largest layering circle die cut the largest piece of DSP ensuring the circle is central
  • Place (do not adhere) the DSP centrally on the largest piece of Whisper White and gently with a pencil draw around the circle
  • With a smaller layering circle place centrally inside the circle just drawn and die cut
  • Place (do not adhere) the Whisper White centrally on the front of the Gorgeous Grape and gently with a pencil drawn around the circle
  • Using the same layering circle place on the drawn circle and die cut
  • Now burnish the Gorgeous Grape score lines
  • Put tear and tape on each end of the window sheet and adhere centrally across the circle on the Gorgeous Grape circle horizontally
  • Adhere the Whisper White cardstock to the front of the Gorgeous Grape, ensuring the die cut circles match
  • Adhere the DSP to the front of Whisper White, ensuring the die cut circle is placed centrally
  • Layer the two pieces of DSP to the Whisper White cardswtock and adhere to the inside back of the card
  • Stamp the sentiment using Gorgeous grape ink to the Whisper White together with any relevant sweet required
  • Adhere this to the DSP, and adhere this to the back of the card
  • Using tear and tape, place on the 1/2 inch edge of the Gorgeous Grape and carefully join the back and the front of the card
  • Stamp the front sentiment on a Whisper White using Gorgeous Grape ink, adhere this to the Gorgeous Grape layer
  • Place a piece of tear and tape vertically centrally and adhere the sentiment to the front of the card
  • Adhere the die cut sweet jars using glue dots and sweets using mini dimensional as required
  • Your card is now complete
