Todays card is for a 90th birthday and I used the Cake Soiree bundle which is available from the Spring/Summer catalogue.
Cardstock
- Whisper White – 6 x 12 inches scored at 3 and 6 inches on the long side; plus pieces for the cake and flower
- Peekaboo Peach – 5 3/4 x 5 3/4 inches
- Very Vanilla – 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches
- So Saffron – for the cake stand
- Gold Foil – for the decoration
Putting the card together
- Using a small piece of Whisper White, rub the cardstock with the stamping buddy and stamp the image of the cake and the flower using versamark; shake the gold embossing powder over the images, remove the excess and heat emboss the images; once dry die cut these two images
- (For this card I used a number stamp which is non SU; these were heat embossed in gold and fussy cut the numbers leaving a tag at the bottom of each; two small holes were made in the top of the cake and the tag of each number slotted in and adhered on the back of the images using tear and tape)
- Using So Saffron cardstock die cut the pieces for the cake stand
- Using the Gold Foil die cut the decorative leaves
- Using the Very Vanilla, rub the complete piece with the stamping buddy; using versamark stamp the flower image and foliage over the card but allow space for the sentiment (easiest way I found was to place a scrap piece of paper/card where the sentiment will be); shake the clear embossing powder over the images, remove the excess and heat emboss the images
- Stamp the card in the space left for the sentiment using versamark; shake the gold embossing powder over the sentiment, remove the excess and heat emboss the image
- Adhere the Very Vanilla to the Peekaboo Peach cardstock using liquid glue, so you have a border of the Peekaboo Peach around the Very Vanilla
- Adhere the two pieces of the cake stand to the Very Vanilla using liquid glue
- Adhere the cake image to the stand using dimensionals to the cake stand
- Adhere the Peekaboo Peach to the front half only of the card base leaving a Whisper White border on three sides
- Rub the bottom of the inside of the card base with the stamping buddy and stamp the sentiment with the versamark, shake the gold embossing powder over the sentiment, remove the excess and heat emboss the sentiment
- Adhere the flower (this will be used as the card stopper when open) to the card base aproximately 3 inches from the bottom and centred using two dimensionals
- Using liquid glue adhere the gold decorative leaves as relevant
- Card is now complete
