Sailing Home Tunnel Fold card

The original idea came from Mixed Up Craft for this card, I used the Sailing Home suite to recreate the card.

Finished card is 5 x 7 inches and folds flat to fit into the envelope, another reason why I like this card.

Whisper White Cardstock 10-1/4 x 7 inches, score on long side at 5, 9 and 10 inches; piece 8-3/4 x 7 inches, score on long side at 4, 4-1/2 and 8-1/2 inches; piece 4-3/4 x 6-3/4 inches (layer for back for sentiment/message)

Firstly you need to create your 2 windows, with the 8-3/4 x 7 inch piece and the quarter inch score on your left, die cut the first window on the right hand side panel. When cut fold the piece along the score lines so the window is on top with a pencil gently mark the window on the bottom panel, with the next smaller die die cut the bottom window (if you do not have a large cutting machine draw around the dies and cut manually). Carefully adhere the window sheets to the wrong side of each window using tear and tape (remember these will not be on same side to adhere).

Using a dauber and Night of Navy ink shade the sky as far down as you require, leave a space for a sun if you want. Adhere the Nigh of Navy wave piece to the back of the tunnel on the large piece of whisper white, die cut the waves using the wavy die from Lilypad set in Balmy Blue and Pool Party; adhere the balmy blue onto the Night of Navy, using the Pool Party strips adhere these in the spaces of the Balmy Blue as required, you will be left with Pool Party waves to use for another project.

Stamp, colour and die cut all the images required. On the large piece of whisper white with the 1/4 inch score line on your right hand side, mark 1 inch on the top and bottom from the 5 inch score line – effectively having a 4 inch inside front cover. On the 1/4 inch score line add some tear and tape and adhere this to the piece you have the windows cut out (note you adhere the smaller piece by the side that has no score line, the other 1/4 inch score line is to adhere the tunnel effect), you should now have one long piece of cardstock with the 1/4 inch score line on one end.

At this point adhere any images to the back of the tunnel, also found it easier to adhere any images onto the window sheets at this point before securing the card fully, it will mean folding the window piece over each time to ensure you are happy with the placement of the images. On the 1/2 inch side add tear and tape together on the 1/4 inch side, make sure you are adding the adhesive to the correct side of the cardstock; 1/4 inch folds and adheres to the right side, 1/2 inch adheres to the left side. Once images are in place now need to adhere the card in place by folding the card showing the 1/2 tear and tape, fold over the 1/4 inch tab and this will stick correctly in place on the opposite side panel. Now adhere the 1/2 inch tab to the 1inch pencil marks. Add the images to the front of the window piece, add the DSP to the inside front, add the night of navy and DSP layers to the front of the card, decorate and add sentiment. Add Night of Navy and white layer to the back of the card for your sentiment and message.

Although this sounds complicated it is very easy and makes an effective card. Thank you for looking.
