Handbag Birthday Card

This handbag birthday card was cased from Mixed Up Craft, the card can stand as shown above or opened up and displayed as shown below.

Lovely Lipstick cardstock is used as the card base and a sheet of Petal Promenade DSP, the flowers were used for the outside and the reverse side for the inside of the card. Outside is decorated with copper embossed vellum butterflies. For the inside the sentiment is stamped onto Whisper White cardstock using co-ordinating ink to match card base; images are embossed in copper; the sentiment is layered onto Lovely Lipstick cardstock and adhered to the inside DSP centrally. The other side of the inside is space for writing your message (if you prefer you can use the back of the card for this) if you use the version above remember to make sure that the Whisper White is the correct way (when closed this will be upside down), this layer is stamped with glasses in clear embossing powder, die cut a bottle, label and heart, and stamped wording and bubbles in Lovely Lipstick ink. Glasses (drink part) were coloured using dark and light Petal Pink blends. To enable the card to remain closed velcro dots were used.

Easiest way to put the card together is to adhere all the DSP panels to the cardstock (except for the back DSP piece); adhere the flap of the bag to the back of the card; cut out the handles using largest oval die and forth largest in cardstock, use the second and third largest for the DSP, adhere the DSP to the cardstock and cut the oval just over half and adhere centrally to the back of he flap; (make sure that when adding the handles that the complete length of card when closed does not exceed 7 inches) adhere the piece of DSP over the back of the handles/flap to cover this up. Add your velcro dots; sentiment layers and message, and decoration for the outside of the card.
