Broadway Bound Highlighters

Today is packaging for some mini highlighters using basic black cardstock, Broadway Bound DSP and Signs of Santa bundle. These make ideal stocking fillers or craft fayre items.

For the 2 mini highlighters you will need

  • Basic Black cardstock – 2 inches x 6 inches; score at 0.5, 1.25, 2.25, 3 inches
  • Broadway Bound DSP – 2 inches x 1 inch; 2 inches x 3 inches
  • Whisper White cardstock for the label

For the rainbow mini highlighters you will need

  • Basic Black cardstock –  6.5 inches x 8 inches; score at 0.5, 1.5, 2.5, 3.5 inches
  • Basic Black cardstock – for the sentiment
  • Broadway Bound DSP – 8 inches x 1 inch; 8 inches x 3 inches

Putting the smaller container together

  • Score and burnish the basic black cardstock
  • Adhere the DSP to the backboard i.e. the side that you will see and to the front panel (you will notice that the DSP sections are on opposite sides of the cardstock when flat)
  • Using the 1/2 inch punch, carefully punch two holes between the first and second score lines (3/4 inch wide section) ensuring that you are not too near the edge and the circles do not meet; as the mini highlighters are slightly larger you will need overlap and punch another hole
  • Using the tag topper punch, punch the top of the panel or you can just corner the ends using a corner punch
  • Adhere a piece of tear and tape to the half inch section and stick to the backboard (if you fold at the bottom of the small DSP section you can stick the tear and tape at the correct place)
  • Using versamark stamp the label onto whisper white cardstock (I used the official stamp from the Signs of Santa set), using gold embossing powder heat emboss the label
  • Die cut the label or fuzzy cut if you do not have the die
  • Adhere to the front of the container using dimensionals
  • Add the mini highlighters and your container is now complete
  • To finish I put the item into a 4 x 4 inches self seal clear bag

Putting the larger container together

  • Score and burnish the basic black cardstock
  • Adhere the DSP to the backboard i.e. the side that you will see and to the front panel (you will notice that the DSP sections are on opposite sides of the cardstock when flat)
  • Using the 3/4 inch circle punch, punch seven holes equally between the first and second score lines
  • Using the corner punch round the corners of the top of the backboard
  • Adhere a piece of tear and tape to the half inch section and stick to the backboard (if you fold at the bottom of the small DSP section you can stick the tear and tape at the correct place)
  • Using versamark stamp the sentiment onto basic black cardstock (I used a sentiment from a retired stamp set), using gold embossing powder heat emboss the sentiment
  • Cut the cardstock to the desired size and using dimensionals adhere to the front of the container
  • Add the mini highlighters and your container is now complete
  • To finish I put the item into a 8 x 6 inches self seal clear bag

Hope you enjoy making your version and thank you for looking.
