Welcome Sister Gift Bag

This bag is based on the Large Briefcase Style Gift Bag by Mixed Up Crafts but I have changed it to suit the size of bag I required. For this bag I used some retired DSP but you can use any DSP that is suitable for you but for this tutorial I will explain what I have used.

Cardstock

Powder Pink – size 8.5 x 3 inches, scored at 1 inch on the short side; size 11.5 x 1 inch (for handle); 3.5 x 2.75 inches for the label

DSP – 2 pieces 12 x 12 inches; each piece scored on one side at 1/2 inch and 3.5 inches (side of the bag); turn 90 degrees and score at 3 inches (bottom of the bag). On the side panel (forgetting the 1/2 score line) with a pencil mark up 1.5 inches from the 3 inch score line, find the centre of the side panel and with a rule score from the edge to the centre of the side panel (forming a triangle) then score from this centre point to the top of the side panel

Putting the bag together

On each piece of DSP from the bottom of the bag cut up each score line at the 1/2 inch mark and 3.5 inch mark to the 3 inch score line
On each piece of DSP cut away the small rectangle at the bottom of the 1/2 inch score line and mitre on the 1/2 inch side
On each side panel of the DSP mitre the bottom of side panel
On the bottom of one piece of DSP adhere liquid glue and stick to the bottom of the other piece of DSP
On each 1/2 inch score line adhere liquid glue and to the bottom flap and stick to make the bag up securing the sides and bottom of the side panel
Using the 8.5 x 3 inch Powder Pink cardstock, corner each front (2 inch side side), using liquid glue adhere the 1 inch side to the back of the bag
Using the hole punch make a hole one inch from the top of the bag and 2.75 inches in from each side
Thread the ribbon required through the holes and tie a bow (own ribbon used)
Using the 11.5 x 1 inch piece of Powder Pink cardstock, adhere about one inch at the bottom of each end stick the handle to the back of the bag placing just either side of the ribbon
For the label, rub the cardstock over with the embossing buddy, use versamark and stamp the images required from the Animal Outing stamp set (from the 2018/19 Annual catalogue available to order from 1st June for customers)
Using the silver embossing powder, heat emboss the images
Sister was die cut from a nonSU using silver foil and adhere using liquid glue
Using dimensionals adhere to the front of the bag
Bag is now complete
